Stellar Studios wins International Davey Awards Gold Recognition

It was announced November 2nd, 2009 that Stellar Studios of Johnson City, Tennessee has won the Gold Award in the Interactive Multi-Media category from the International Davey Awards. The Davey Awards recognize marketing achievements of smaller firms with billing under $25 million. Other gold award winners in the Interactive Multi Media category include impressive small-firm clients such as Stanley Bositch, Red Bull, Sony Pictures and the State of California.

Stellar Studios won Gold for the interactive multi-media Annual Report of the Johnson City Power Board. (See www.jcpb.com Annual Report link at end of web site.)

“The report is highly interactive. It’s a unique blend of digital media and handcrafted artwork. All graphics were handmade and photographed-not computer generated. This is reflective of our community, a small, progressive city in the Appalachian mountains,” said Stellar Studios owner Bill May. “The site is packed with highly interactive technology that still relies on the reader’s curiosity.”

“Stellar Studios recognizes that this achievement was only possible due to the input and support of Robert White and J.T. McSpadden of Johnson City Power Board Marketing, and artistic and technical contributions of Christie Leach and Alex Logue, Stellar Studios designers,” said May. “There were graphic contributions made by many stakeholders that reflect the true flavor of the community and they are also credited in the report.”

The International Davey Awards gets it name from the Biblical story of David who defeated Goliath with a big idea and a little rock. The awards honor the achievements of small graphics, advertising, or multimedia firms with less than $25 million in annual billing. Judges include marketing executives from companies such as Conde Nast, Disney, the Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, HBO, Monster.com, Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art and many more.

Stellar Studios has been in business for ll years, founded by Washington County native Bill May. The Interactive design and development firm includes clients in the medical, industrial, public utility, food service and government fields. The company has 5 employees and is located at 142 West Market Street, Johnson City, Tennessee.
