BLS Architects wins design award for Ridgeview Elementary School

BLS Architects of Johnson City, TN recently won the Tennessee School Boards Association “Peoples’ Choice Award” for Ridgeview Elementary School design (Washington County, TN.) The judging took place at the 2009 Tennessee School Boards convention held in Nashville in November and selection of the “People’s Choice” award was by member-attendees statewide viewing the displayed projects at the event. It was chosen as the favorite design in the competition.

The new prekindergarten through eighth grade school, which is 98,000 S. F., features a sloped metal roof, an abundance of natural light, outdoor athletic facilities and activity areas and an energy efficient geothermal heating and cooling system.

BLS Architects has won many awards for school design throughout its 97 year history and has a solid reputation for outstanding education facility design in the region.
